(...) Yes. Actually it's two step, the A/D interrupt sets a flag and a routine in the firmware checks the flag periodically and does the processing, most of it being calling the ROM routine. (...) No. You can read height in the diagram as voltage, (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) When the RCX 2.0 firmware came out, LEGO released an updated SDK ((URL) to take advantage of all the new stuff. One of the new features they provided was a new language called LEGO Assembler (LASM). This is as close to the hardware as you can (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I'm interested in programming the RCX in assembly. I'm trying to get total control over the hardware in the manner I'm most familliar with. Everyting I've seen so far seems to use higher level languages (Java/variants of C/etc.) Does anyone know of (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Interesting and tough words, however, this is the same mentality that England had in the days when people like Robin Hood had to be the "social programs". If you eliminate government, after having a democracy for so long, it would be a disaster. I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Well, I only have one thing to say. I have as many complaints with the US as the rest of you, BUT, to borrow from Richard Feynman, don't bother to criticize if you don't have an alternative solution to offer. Do something, don't sit around and talk (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I believe that in this case, you should use a light sensor looking at a wheel that's white with a black line marked on it. The software for reading this is identical to what you would use for line following (a very well researched topic!) - (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

In 'The LEGO Lugger', previously posted at (URL) the extended drive shafts for both sides of a tracked vehicle, moving in opposite directions, are summed in a differential with the difference (hopefully zero)fed to the rotation sensor.
