I would like to add range-finding of some description to my robot project. I would prefer to make it as cheap as possible. I have heard of the various polaroid-based schemes, but these all sound as though they are $90+ solutions. Does it have to be (...) (29 years ago, 12-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) the fuse is rated for about 2.5A continuous. If that is not enough, get one rated for more current, or replace it with a wire and make sure not to short out the nicads, or you'll get 30 to 40 A flowing. -F (29 years ago, 13-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Has anyone figured out how to monitor the battery level on an HB1.2? I would like to be able to use a circuit similar to the one published in the Jones Mobile Robots book, but it connects output directly to an analog port and is confused by the (...) Want to use motors of different voltage than the 9V required by HandyBoard? Then read this. I had decided to use converted Servo's as wheel drives, and they want about 4.8V. I heard that there is an extention board for the HandyBoard. Does anyone know if it is available yet, and where I can get one? Price also?
