  Re: 8880 Pleasure.....

(...) I agree - to a point. I was disappointed with the chain drive to the engine, as it occasionally slips, though this can be reduced. The main thing that disappointed me was the steering geometry. Because the racks are psitioned relatively high, (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8880 Pleasure...

(...) Totally agreed, Jason. I also recommend the 8868 AirTech Claw Rig as a pleasant diversion. Expensive and difficult to find, but a wonderful feat of Technic engineering. It has an on-board air compressor! - Sean (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

  8880 Pleasure.....

Well after approximately 5 hours, I just finished building my recently acquired 8880 Supercar, and frankly it lives up to the hype... Very good working features, drivetrain is quite remarkable. The best part is the number of beams and other useful (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

In lugnet.reviews, Richard Marchetti writes: <<<SNIPPAGE>>> (...) <<<SNIPPAGE>>> Really, I'm happy to see them actually, although I would like to see them a little more functional. I'm hoping TLC will go further along the path and create even (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews)

  Life on Mars Woohoo!

I bought three LOOM sets today, 7313, 7311, and 7314. I love these things! The martians look really cute, my favourite is Antares (in 7314). Of the mecha, the 7314 is the best one, I think. It has arms, and can move them up and down. 7313 has those (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Review: 3059 - Mars Mission Master Builders

(...) [snip] One small addition: I posted an model to the CAD groups, built from this set. (URL). This model uses all the parts in the set. Steve (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews)

(...) lot (...) Hey now...Support told me that the image qualty was poor because I did not have the correct lighting. I need to go find some studio lights I guess and see if that makes the picture as crystal clear as theirs. :) I have actually (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)

Re: Moviemaker Set Video Clips (WAS: Lego review in US News & World Report)

(...) It is nowhere on the box, manual or anything else that comes with the package. They are guilty of FALSE ADVERTISING, no question about it. I've seen some works of art popping up on sites. They look like they took a lot of work and planning. (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)

(...) ...There's a patch? The "online update" trick said everything was peachy... what did the patch cover? (I had no support issues (at least not yet)). (...) The only thing different between the two cams is the colour. (...) Well yes, the Studio software allows you to edit your clips in far more detail. At confined resolutions.   Re: Moviemaker Set Video Clips (WAS: Lego review in US News & World Report)

(...) I had great help from Tech support with this problem. Once I convinced the guy that I knew what I was doing and I had already tried everything there was to try. I got the same patch that I told him SHOULD be on the website. The phone support (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)

Re: Moviemaker Set Video Clips (WAS: Lego review in US News & World Report)

(...) I can't respond to the main thrust of this thread, but I do want to share my family's experience with tech support. My sons got LEGO Studio for Christmas. They installed the software on our Win98 machine. It kept GPF'ing. On Dec 27 (with a (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)

Re: Moviemaker Set Video Clips (WAS: Lego review in US News & World Report)

(...) The issue here is not the quality of the cam per say. The Vision Command set is GREAT. For $139CDN you get parts, the cam, and some really neat software. The Vision recognition is cool but it comes with a camera control program that lets you (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.general)
