Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) --snipped all the great text reviewing the sets-- (...) hey steve i'm tuning in REAL late here (i haven't visited the reviews group for quite awhile) but i wanted to thank you for your in-depth review of not only the models but the elements, (...)   _The_Foundling_ movie (was Re: Lego movie trailer right heah)

[Crossposted to lugnet.reviews with followups set back to lugnet.market.buy- sell-trade] (...) Ah, this is a fine moment in the film. Quite twisted. :) I watched your movie on videotape a couple weeks ago with a friend and was impressed with how (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 5600 (Radio Control Racer)

Thanks tons! You'd think I could have figured it out... same excuse I've been using for a couple of weeks now: I'm moving! With the Army! What a pain! ;-) (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 5600 (Radio Control Racer)

Excellent! Thanks. I learn more every stinkin day. I should have figgered it out myself. -Tom McD. (Now, at what temperature does an ordinary safety match ignite? At what temperature can it continue to burn?) (...) it. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 5600 (Radio Control Racer)

But you CAN in fact do searches. It's easy. (...) Go here: (URL) type 5600 in the search box at the top.. you get 28 article hits in at least 4 different groups. Once you do that, you can refine your search by modifying the groups or the search (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 5600 (Radio Control Racer)

Hi Beth and welcome to the group. Newbies are always welcome. For rec.toys.lego you can search through a good list of archives at the (URL) site. As for reviews here, you'd have to check lugnet.reviews. As for how to have Lugnet search for all (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 5600 (Radio Control Racer)

And this is what I get for not looking at which group it's going to ship me off to! This was meant to be in .reviews! Beth (...) (25 years ago, 1-Apr-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.reviews)

Review: 7130 Snowspeeder (or, Jumping on the Hand Grenade of Criticism)

Hi, everyone-- Well, I'll be the one to risk the fury of the wider LUGNET community by posting what appears to be the first "review" of 7130 (which, looking at the box, doesn't seem to have any real name at all--I tended to Kennerize it and just (...) (26 years ago, 27-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

  Space Police #6986 Mission Commander

A Holy Grail in the mail. This is a fantastic set. The review on Pause begins: "Legendary are the raves about the Mission Commander." They are correct. This set rocks. One of the best color combos from all the Space lines and awesome functions. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Legoland Train Model Nitpicking, vehicles I recognised, misc rantings.

Well, I spent a lot of time examining the trains at LegoLand MiniLand Some nits.... which should be taken as constructive criticism because in general I LOVED it. - The nonworking switches are very obviously non working. So much so that they're (...) (26 years ago, 22-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build, lugnet.reviews)

Re: Which airport is best?... an RTL Repost

Thanks for these chopper reviews. I had wanted to see a transport copter (kind with double rotors on top). I had no idea that there were already some made. Wish they'd sell some again w/o the light and sound expense. DJ Zorn To locate scans of (...) (26 years ago, 22-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Which airport is best?... an RTL Repost

(...) You're right that the 6482 is big and looks a lot like the US coast guard ones, but it's still missing something to be the best (imho). (...) What about the Whirlwind Rescue (8856)? It could be fun to see a Model Team "decorated" version of (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Which airport is best?... an RTL Repost

(...) Really! While I agree they have potential, I would have to say that the BEST minifig scale copter would have to be the light and sound air sea rescue copter, it looks a lot like the US coast guard ones. THAT's a big chopper. <rummage rummage> (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Larry Pieniazek (lar@voyager.net) wrote: [...] (...) Even though the CS cargo helicopter may be unusual, I've always considered it to be the best minifig scale helicopter from TLG (6462-1 and 6545 have potential for something really good). Play (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) I agree about the hard-points for the guns. But compared to the rest of the pieces in this set, the TIE front-side seem very SPUD-ish to me... Steve (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.reviews)

Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) My (main) problem is that this piece is bigger than it should be -- its base is 2 studs deep, plus the domed part and gun-points that stick out in front. And the whole thing is the trans-smoke material. I think if this part was only 1-deep (...) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.reviews)

Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) The first time I saw the TIE fighter window, I wanted to make two things: 1) The Bespin Duel scene, with the big round window, and 2) the Emperor's Throne Room from RotJ. I don't consider it a SPUD- there are a lot of big, round windows in the (...) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.reviews)

Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) Is this really a SPUD? I haven't had a chance to see this set in real life yet, but my first reaction from the picture was 'neat -- I wonder if they are going to use the TIE canopy as the window in a Bespin playset next year?' (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.reviews)

Re: First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

(...) But we can't get too witty, such as finding a suitable lego-ish definition for the acronym of "So Happy It's Thursday" or else Todd might not allow it, and it could just be in plain bad taste. :) BURP and SPUD are somewhat derogatory, but are (...)
