Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) Ah, THAT nose cone. Shows I usually collect space sets, doesn't it :-) Well, if you look at the changes they did with the plates, this changes is logical. It is the same useage that they improved (you can now attach it onto a larger plate, (...) (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

(...) Just noticed, that there are two versions of set 7075; I bought a second set, labeled "limited edition" (same price), which included motor AND battery; when mounted, this acts as counter-weight and makes the ship float reasonably. Arne, (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) By nose cone I meant this piece: (URL) I don't see why TLG would need to replace it since it a fairly new piece. (1994). I looked at the zoomed in picture on S@H and I couldn't see the holes for the studs. But I was relieved when I see they (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) Yeah, that's the one. At first I didn't notice it, but the openings are very visible in the nose of the plane. The pictures on the box do show the new elements (like this piece and the sloped windows), but the instructions show the old (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) (URL) Is this the piece they replaced? If so, so be it a least they're easily replaced by old ones. If it's the Nose Cone ugghh unsightly! (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

  Set 10159 - City Airport

Disclaimer: this is my first review, so I'm not familiar with what a review _should_ look like. Anyways, here it goes: Set 10159 - City Airport is a re-release of set 6597. This means it is from a time when you could actually build a city with (...) (20 years ago, 23-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

(...) I hope that happens with all of the +4 pirate sets... I want them all cheap. (...) I like that you acknowledge the fact that they are made for 4 year olds. A lot of people seem to forget that and start complaining at the "bad quality" of the (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

  Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

Well, I've waited some months, but finally this ship was on deep discount. First: it IS a JacStone set, so as expected, there are ugly figs and lots of big pieces. It's intended for 4-year old kids, and indeed there is hardly anything in it that is (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

  review of 4756 Shrieking Shack

444 pieces, $50 US retail or $70 Canadian. The candy shop is sweet, but, in my opinion, should have been put in a separate set on its own. The "converter" one-piece brick is neat and could provide some fun for the target audience. There are some (...) (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.reviews)

  Review: 4751 HP Marauder's Map

4751: Marauder's Map Price: 9.99, now 6.99 at Wal-Mart Pieces: 106 BrickLink part value: about $15 Value: Quite good This fills the $10 playset slot in the HP 2004 lineup. As such its role is to make a tiny building with one action scene. It's got a (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Designer sets 4506 (Sea) and 4507 (Prehistoric)

Greetings and Salutations, I am a big fan of the new Designer series. When I saw 4506 "Sea Predators" and 4507 "Prehistoric Creatures" appear on S@H, I ordered them right away! They arrived today and I spent all evening assembling a few of the (...) (20 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.reviews)

  notes within the set guides

I've noticed for some time that some people put some WASTEFUL notes about sets, for instance: (URL) the notes "MISB" or "##% off"... I've mostly wondered how much webspace these notes waste? I've been tracking some of mine down that were "Braging" (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.reviews)

Re: New Harry Potter Castle Review - 4757

(...) If I know the TLC, they'll want to re-use the newly made HP parts in as many other themed sets as possible. With the new "Candy" Knights coming out, and a possible second line of those on the horizon, we may yet see Sand Green Skeletons! That (...)   Doc Ock's Hideout reviewed at Millionaire Playboy site

I ran across this trolling around, not sure how long it's been out. They have reviewed other LEGO and MB sets in the past. (URL) site is collectible toy focused rather than LEGO focused... so their emphasis is on play value and the number of figures (...)   Re: New Harry Potter Castle Review - 4757

(...) I, too, lament the loss of legs. Nary a moldy old skeleton for us. :( (21 years ago, 18-Apr-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle)

Re: New Harry Potter Castle Review - 4757

(...) i have read the books and from the pictures its pretty much 50/50 book and movie. since i dont remember there being a clock tower in the book but from the screenshots of the movie there is a humungous clock. (21 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle)

Re: New Harry Potter Castle Review - 4757

(...) I think the biggest complaint that people will have about these is that there are no sand-green skeleton legs. You get the skeleton torso and arms, and a sand-green head (or you can use Frankie's, if you want eyes), but no sand-green skeleton (...)
