Re: Finally! 3 new buildings from the Realm of Velaria!

(...) Tripods are definitely a real help. Another thing which can be useful is a slave flash which will let you illuminate a subject from the side (however, you need to be ware of cameras which preflash which makes a slave useless). I almost (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish)

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

(...) POV doesn't have a 4800x4800 option in the Render>Edit Settings/Render window, so here's how to get it listed there. Go to your POV directory, and then to the 'renderer' subdirectory. Open quickres.ini At the bottom, create a new entry (copy (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

You need to create an image in POV-Ray that's at least 4800 x 4800 pixels. You can't/don't need to set the ppi in POV-ray. Then make sure your image program prints it at 600 dpi (do _not_ resample the image). You're weren't asking how to create (...)   From Screen to Paper Printing (PPI/DPI Question)

Hey Y'all: I have a project created in Ldraw/POV-Ray of which I would like to create a higher (PPI/DPI) resolution image of approximately 8" x 8". I'd like to be able to achieve something like 600-1200 ppi for the final image printed on paper. I (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.ray)

So the link on the LUGNET publish page has become stale. This is the new one: (URL) searching for the new page, the LEGO site's search engine first delivered the printable version: (URL) pages in English. Constantine Hannaher (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Finally! 3 new buildings from the Realm of Velaria!

(...) Well, I personally use a digital camera - it's a Sony Mavica with manual focus, which is absolutely perfect for lego pictures. I tend to take them a few times before they come out exactly right... I've got shaky hands so I will often try to (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.publish)

Re: BT Contest: WTF-2001 Wide-Track Fury

(...) I've used them.[1] Good? For me, it's more like Great! Just in case I do get booted off for some reason, I've left my Geocities site up as a mirror. I don't know *why* they give you all this stuff for free, but I sure like it! -- Mark Nelson (...) (24 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.publish)

Re: BT Contest: WTF-2001 Wide-Track Fury

(...) Ok, about ozbricks, has anyone used them? What are their experiences? Good, bad, indifferent? I have been thinking about leaving geocities, but I don't want to move the site again in a couple months. Oh, and Tony, I like the WTF, neat little (...)
