  Feature Requests for Brickshelf

Brickshelf is a fantastic tool to LEGO builders. It is fast, reliable, and easy to use. Furthermore, it automatically supports thumbnails and hierarchical directories (stuff that is a bit tedious to do manually). I've begun to use Brickshelf more (...)   Re: Off Topic - Digital camera !

I couldn't find either of those on Olympus' web site and I've not seen them in the stores either. I have an Olympus D490 and I find it excellent for LEGO pictures. A key feature is a "macro" focus mode. This allows you to take really clear pictures (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Online Ideas Page...

(...) The problem is that i deleted the original Bitmaps from MLCAD, so I can only change the format from the JPEG's and they end up being larger. I don't exactly know why they end up larger, but they do. I may go with a smaller picture on the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Online Ideas Page...

(...) GIFs are lossless compression, JPEGs are lossy. So you'll generally be able to compress JPEGs smaller than GIFs, but the more you compress, the more detail is lost. ROSCO (25 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.publish)

  www.brickset.com rehosted

Brickset has been rehosted, onto a server in the US, which should mean it is quicker for those in the US, as well as being more reliable. I have personally been experiencing some DNS errors connecting to it today, but that might be because the (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.publish)

RE: Web Site Design (was 10 wide Hummer MOC)

(...) The thing is, my website looks fine (AFAIK) in any browser except Netscape 4.x with style sheets on. For some reason, Netscape 4.x just does a terrible job implementing CSS. I really don't feel like coding hacks around Netscape 4.x's (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Web Site Design (was 10 wide Hummer MOC)

(...) Nice model. The web site design is interesting, but I really get annoyed at web sites which force one to the absolute latest browser. I always wonder whether a site REALLY needs to use the new gee whiz features of the new browsers. With the (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

  RE: 10 wide Hummer MOC

(...) Netscape 6 is not perfect yet, but it's much stabler and faster than the beta. It displays pages much faster and nice than 4.7, in my experience. However, I keep a copy of both on my machine because 6 seems to have some problems with (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: 10 wide Hummer MOC

(...) Yeah..I am using 4.7 right now. Been thinking about installing 6. I have heard there are fewer problems with 6 now than back when I tried the beta. (...) I got the Javascript message just fine. I just ignored it and went into the site anyways. (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.publish)

  RE: 10 wide Hummer MOC

(...) I'll CAD the model before I take it apart, but I don't know when that will be. (...) Netscape 4.x (is that what you are using?) does a terrible job at implementing style sheets. It looks fine in Netscape 6 or IE 5. My style sheet does no (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.publish)

  10 wide Hummer MOC

I've put the photos up on my redesigned website: (URL) slightly different from the one in the two pictures in my Brickshelf gallery, and there are of course many more pictures of it.   Where can I get web space

Hello, My name is Olivier, and this is my first post. I hope this is the correct news group for my question: I have been scanning pictures of my own Lego creations and now I am looking for a free web host where I can publish them. I know of some (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Instruction and Catalog scans

(...) I'm almost positive that they don't. Chances are it'd be a huge waste of space with little appreciation. If they DID have sets in glass cabinets, etc, I'd imagine that they'd only pick very popular sets as examples of 'Lego throughout the (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Wanted: 200mb web space

I am looking to move the brickset.com image repository in order to reduce running costs and improve availability. Does anyone have space to offer (preferably FOC or very low price), or know where I can get some? The only real requirement beyond the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish)

  Website preview...

I'm redesigning my website so I can update it more easily. Everything should be fully funtional, but some non-model pages may be limited to "Coming soon". The "Land" section is fairly complete: (URL) note: the page looks fine in Netspace 6 and IE 5, (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-01, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.publish.html)
