Why we shouldn't post copies of retailer catalogs is because we weren't meant
to see them in the first place.  It's a matter of respect, if not legalities,
worst come to worst.

I agree with you, in the general case.  However, I think it's fair to state
that Lego does not have a consistent policy regarding the dealer/retailer
catalogue:

(James Powell wrote:)
TRU in Victoria has the retail catalog out on the end of the shelf.  All it is
is a full description of what a retail outlet can order from lego.  The price
sheet is -not- part of it, and that is the only remotely sensitive piece of
the catalog.

I do not know how my correspondent came to be in posession of the catalogue,
but I think its safe to say that he was given it, and did not steal it or
otherwise illegally obtain it. • (and)
In 1995 I and another AFOL in the UK were sent 1996 retailers catalogues
through the post at the beginning of December by a LEGO UK empolyee

(Todd Lehman wrote:)
Retailers aren't even supposed to show these catalogs to customers.  In fact,
employees at the MoA LIC have said in the past that they could even lose
their *jobs* for showing a retailer catalog to customers

Several people who are not retailers have indicated having or seeing these
catalogues in the past, as well.  If it is truly Lego's desire to keep this
information confidential, they are being very arbitrary in their enforcement.

Now, idle curiosity prompts me to ask (of those who have seen one): Does the
catalogue have any indication in it which prohibits redistribution?
