I stopped at 2 Shell stations today. One station only had the little sets.
There was a hand written sign that said $1.49, no mention of a mandatory
purchase.

The other station I stopped at had a huge display of all the sets. I think • they
were just finishing setting the display up,the manager seemed to be going over
what was what with the cashier. So, I asked how much for the Ferrari. She • tells
me that can't sell it yet. She said different sets will become available the
closer it gets to Christmas (1). She did say it would be $25 when they are
allowed to sell it. Then she says they would give a $10 discount if you put it
on your Chase Manhattan credit card. Pretty cool, eh??

I found the Ferrari at a station off I-80 in Dixon, CA.
Unfortunately you won't get the discount with just any old Chase Visa card-- it
has to be a Shell Chase Visa (so my TRU Chase Visa didn't cut it).  : (  Plus,
the sign I saw only offered a $5.00 discount.  (Is this another example of
Californians getting the shaft from oil companies?)

She told the cashier gas didn't need to be purchased in order to buy any Lego.

According to their display, the small sets are $1.99 w/o a $10.00 gas purchase
and $1.49 with a $10.00 gas purchase.  The larger sets are the same price with
or without a purchase.  The sign said the Belville and gas station sets were
$11.99 each and the Ferrari $29.99, but the Ferrari rang up at $24.99. It would
be nice if they are wrong on the other sets and they ring up at $9.99 (or
less!).
