  Re: MOC - It's a slice of the Pirate's Life for Me! (A Pirate Vignette!!)

(...) Pretty cool! Spotlighted. (...) This raises a question in my mind... (1) is it just the base that has to conform? I have seen several vignettes now that have figures or things sticking out beyond the confines of the base... this one takes that (...)   Re: The corvette Reprendre

(...) Thanks for credit! (...) Richie, I like it a lot, but I think your bow good be better, it's too squaresh and the stem is to thick and not far enought forward of the keel. Your top deck forward should be even with the rise of the keel (the (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: MOC - It's a slice of the Pirate's Life for Me! (A Pirate Vignette!!)

(...) I like it a lot! Seldom has so much been captured on an 8x8 base... Oh yes, I'm particularly impressed by the 'cut off' starboard ratlines. Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: MOC - It's a slice of the Pirate's Life for Me! (A Pirate Vignette!!)

(...) Snip Thanks for sharing, Kurt! There have been other pirate vignettes, but you've surely taken it to the next level (er,.. deck). I like how that one pirate remains to hold on to his grog while in his bunk. It would be neat to see someone make (...) (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: 44 Gun Frigate Progresses

(...) That is certainly a magnificent effort at a huge scale! I particularly like the look of the rigging. Looking forward to seeing more... Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The Fighting Iron-Top {Monsoon}

(...) Thanks! You are right about the sloped bricks but I don't have enough of the longer kind. But I may still include slopes into the final version in some way since I think that I may add a partial middle deck for mounting cannon thus requiring (...)   Re: The Fighting Iron-Top {Monsoon}

(...) Nice execution. I think if you could use angled plates for the topsides, rather than staggered bricks, it would look better. Using sloped bricks would also look good, I think. (...) Cannon in those pre-made gun ports is always a plus! Well (...) (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  The Fighting Iron-Top {Monsoon}

Well it’s my lunch break so it thought I would introduce my Sunday afternoon project the Fighting Iron-top Monsoon : (URL) I know this strays fairly far into the realm of phantasy.   Re: Lego Cannon ( cannons ) design designs ( MOC MOCs ) and Carronade

Another good link! The thread call "Home built pirate weaponry" started by Richie Dulin (URL) And in that thread is this post (URL) in which Richie gives the construction details for his carronade. I have made a slightly different version of his (...) (20 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: Ships' Boats

(...) The launch is fairly easier, given the six-wide base. I use 2x plates internally running the length of the keel and boat plates (round 2x2 inverted tiles) underneath to sandwich the six wide plates of the hull and six wide bow plates. The SNOT (...)   Re: Ships' Boats

(...) I have to say I like this one the best (although the small swivel gun on the pinnace is particularly nice.). I don't suppose you have some better pictures of the construction? I am just not seeing in my mind how you connected the bow and stern (...) (20 years ago, 11-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, FTX)

  Re: A not so deserted island

(...) Josh, Tell Jonathan this is really nice. His waterfall was uniquely made, and the tribal stuff was a nice touch. The river/bay is cool, too. Thanks, George (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: A not so deserted island

(...) -snip- (...) Very nice. Large enough for some adventuring, with a nice blend of terrain types. He needs some soldiers to take care of those pirates, though ;-). Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: A not so deserted island

(...) Nice. I like the way he built up a larger island by combining baseplates and green and yellow plates. Also, that waterfall is nice. Much more texture than the usual "wall of blue" waterfalls. Frank (20 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.pirates)
