Well, I've been saying that I need to get this privateer of mine finished, and
I've dropped her name a number of times. At long last, photos of 'Her Ladyship'
have arrived!

The pre-moderation teasers:

And the gallery, with pictures predominantly taken in the mysterious 'House
Cove', where the water looks like carpet and the cliffs look like furniture!

She's a trim Nova Scotia built schooner, faster than just about anything on the
Grand Banks, and as handy as the clippers on the American coast. Though she
might look helpless from afar, Her Ladyship is well-fitted for anti-piracy work
with six 4-pounders, and a determined crew of Newfoundland fishermen. Playing
the damsel in distress, she has already drawn a half dozen unpleasant vessels
onto coastal batteries, frigates, and recently, to His Majesty's Cutter
Friendly. They're a happy pair... pictures of that soon to come.

Meanwhile, three new 'House Cove' pictures have been added to Friendly's gallery
(post moderation):

Her stern boat, bow, and her skipper -- Lieutenant MacEwan -- under the red
ensign.

I'd have liked to do up all of these pictures properly, but it's simply taking
too long! Nonethless, I'm quite pleased with Her Ladyship, and at some point
I'll have to customize sails for both her and Friendly...

Next up, the fort, batteries, and some outport village elements for Brickley's
Cove itself!

(...) Nice work indeed! That SNOT hull is a work of art - I love the combination of slopes and the bow and more traditional plated SNOT at the stern. I'm not a fan of schooner rigs generally, but I'd love to see this one under full canvas - she'd (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

(...) Ken, Very nice, it's definitely a schooner, and the cannons look darn good. I guess those cod-pirates are in for a surprise. Thanks, George (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Well, I am a fan of schooners, and it's nice to see another fore-and-aft vessel out there with a proper amount of privateer pop-guns. I'm looking forward to seeing the Lady Grace complete with sails. -->Bruce<-- (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)
