Good day, all.

With new French threats apparantly on the prowl in the Pacific (this means
Misérable, Mr. Dulin), Captain Carstairs of the Brickley's Cove squadron
(such as it is) decided it an opportune time to strike at a privateer base
at St. Pierre et Miquélon, just off the Newfoundland coast. Thus, on a
lovely summer morning, he turned out every red-coated infantryman billeted
in the cove – just about 60 men, not including irregulars – and took them
aboard two cutters for the raid:

Thus, a platoon of the 49th Foot (saluted by the 9th Dragoons behind them)
prepares to embark:

And then the platoon of the 4th Royal Fusiliers, well uniformed with custom
blue facings and grey crossbelts, and Richie Dulin-style bushbies, also made
ready to board boats:

But there was confusion, as some overland reinforcements happened upon the
expedition before it got to the boats. Only the fog saved the unannounced
newcomers from being unfortunately met by the Dragoons. Theirs is a Freed
unit out of the West Indies by way of the Nova Scotia free-slave
settlements. They still wear the uniforms they acquired in the process of
taking their island from the Spanish, with the aid of a British frigate
under Carstairs himself. They've come to repay their debt, and perhaps to
pursue profession Basketball careers when the war ends. They are, of course,
the Free-Slave Irregulars:

More pictures to come as I can get a camera again – these have been on the
desktop for quite a while, but circumstance is filling my time with annoying
distractions (mainly exams).

In any case, Britain remains strong in the North Atlantic! Well, relatively.
As long as nothing with 28 guns makes a sojourn!
