  Re: The NEXT Pirates Legend

(...) Press-ganging troops is always difficult. Lessee, 133 red soldiers, 120 blue, 20 black, 50 armada, and a whole lotta scurvy pirates. Not enough. More! Us pyrates never be satifisfied when it comes to loot. (...) Hi there, I'm Johnny Storm! Hi (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The NEXT Pirates Legend

(...) *** With the re-release of the Pirate ships, I really need to fill in the crew compliment. As the owner of 16 pirate ships and 10 scratch-built Cutters, I would welcome the extra mini-figs. (...) *** Better yet... either way, Lego could sell a (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The NEXT Pirates Legend

(...) These would all be good Classic releases. Sabre Island, Cannon Cove, and Lagoon Lockup (6265, 66, and 67 respectively for onlookers) are all solid mid-size to smallish sets. I'm not sure that they are Legends, but I wouldn't turn any of them (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The NEXT Pirates Legend

To help with the Pirate line, I would prefer to see a re-release of the Pirate mini-figs sets such as : 6204, 6251, 6252, 6257, and/or even 6265, 6266, and 6267. Hugh (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  The NEXT Pirates Legend

Black Sea Barracuda will return as the first Pirates Legend, probably helped in part that new Pirates sets have been absent for several years. It's quite possible that all the other nominees will see production as a Legend before we see another (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) I'm hoping to see this soon, as every other major theme I can think of has been recognized as a legend, except the most noble of themes, space. However, there's no way I'm gonna wait up to a year, or until the star wars contract expires before (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) Grand Admiral Sandlin and I took my old BSB and converted it to an 'Air Pirates' ship. Unfortunately, we stalled out in making the matching Armada Flagship conversion before we took pictures. Now they're sitting under Mark's workbench (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) I agree... but I think all themes shall eventually have their moment. Just given time, Lego shall do it. (...) So do I! :/ (...) Why? Is it non-Lego related? -JHK (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) Noooo!!!! I was hoping against all odds that the Battrax would somehow hold through all odds and somehow make it to the legend category, guess my vote was futile. I think it is very disadvantageous that the pirates sets got a foothold above (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up!

(...) Indeed! And there's always the anchor-out-of-bricks solution too. (...) Probably an anti-rust treatment of some sort. (...) Well spotted! Blue and red are the best colours too... Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 11-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: New legend is up!

(...) If it bothers you that much, use a couple of chains from adventurer/castle sets. The day Pirates is about realism is the day I pack my loot and head over to .space :) (...) Never...   Re: New legend is up!

(...) Indeed. Except for the monkeys. And I have my doubts about those anchors, too - they're just not going to hold a large frigate in place in anything more than a slight breeze (or a mild current). And if the tiny anchor does, by some minor (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: New legend is up!

(...) No no no. Don't think of it as scuttling. Just think of it as one hell of a refit. Can't be done? The hell you say. Port Block Yards does it all the time :-) (...) I'd like that too, but I guess I can build bases out of just about anything, (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

  does this pattern exist?

I need your help. :-( I encoded a bunch of LCAD files for various minifig faces, and it may be that I (accidentally) encoded an extra one, for a face pattern that doesn't really exist. (Oops...) It's this file: "Minifig Head with Messy Hair, (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.general, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) pretty clear LD doesn't give much of a hoot about space. It even got the Battrax's model year wrong. 1987, not 1989! Buffoons!! BAH!! :-) --Dave (jot and jab) (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up

(...) It depends on how early in the voting the opinion was first added to the list. If I recall, the top vote getter was only around 50-60 when I added that bit about the Barracuda (yes, I mentioned it here out of sheer vanity since it was the top (...)   Re: [My latest MOC] The lost tower

Arr! Piratin' is about ships, mostly. But if ye be wantin' an architectural critique, I'd say that it's a mighty fine tower, but the buttresses should be a bit thicker. And along with the concrete comment earlier, the plain walls are too shiny. They (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: [My latest MOC] The lost tower

Hello! (...) OK, that's a good reason. Well, not a "good" reason, but after all a reason :-) Bye Jojo P.S. I wonder why nobody in this pirates group said a single word about this cute pirate related MOC? (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: New legend is up!

(...) Indeed. The best sets for building armies are those little one fig-few misc pieces ones. But I doubt somehow one of those would ever end up being made a legend. I just use the **set that must not be named** as an example because IMO it's the (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)
