Re: new MOCs: New Blockerdam and the Millennium Parrot

(...) Hear Hear! However one thing sort of offends me: The local watering hole, the 'Wubbo Ockels'. Since he was the first space-faring Flying Dutchman ever, I'd say Wubbo deserves more credit that this! ;-) Wessel (X-posted tot lugnet.loc.nl in (...)   Re: LEGO set design query

(...) Well, the answer is simple...... They want more Police Officers! lol Or They want to teach the kids early on how to escape! lol Nah, but really, toys are a reflection of our society, and unfortunately it includes more and more prisons.   Re: new MOCs: New Blockerdam and the Millennium Parrot

(...) Great stuff, Michael. I like the way you've made the 'Parrot look like a different vessel to the AF, rather than just a longer one. Nice characters too. Cheers Richie (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.pirates)

new MOCs: New Blockerdam and the Millennium Parrot

Hiya all (and arrrrr! etc) Having finally sorted out some webspace, I knocked up a couple of pages. One day when I've got more material (and time) I'll make them part of a larger site, but for now... (URL) a look, anyway. Go oooooooon :) Michael (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.pirates)

a carefully designed conspiracy with the sole purpose of annoying lego collectors (and the pleasant side effect of droping the price of jail doors). hope that explains everything. please note the jail doors have NOTHING to do with playability or (...) Hmmmm interestingly, King Leo's castle missed out on a cell (though it did get the (...)   Re: LEGO set design query

(...) Because kids like to play "good guy / bad guy" games (cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, etc) and locking people up is part of that game's scenario. The bad guy locks up the good guy as part of the evil plan, and the good guy escapes, and (...)   LEGO set design query

I don't know if anyone else has asked this in the past, but I was curious if anyone has an explanation as to why LEGO seem to add prison/jails to such a large percentage of lego sets? Any ideas?   Re: In praise of the Red Beard Runner (6290)

In lugnet.loc.au, Richie Dulin writes in praise of RBRs and rightly so.   In praise of the Red Beard Runner (6290)

Ahoy! I noticed TRU Chatswood still had a few of these left at the pre-Christmas price of $A109, and after umming and ahhing for a while I decided to purchase one.
