  Re: Puerto Bonita

That's the best realized spanish colonial town I've seen. I love the creeping vines wrapped around columns, the grey tiled patios and the hanging elements. Where's Zorro? :-) Bruce Oh, I believe brick fortresses stood up better to cannon balls. Gave (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

Hey Jon, Very Nice! I like the looks of it! You captured a nice Spanish feel to it. It's a good inspiration for the pirate island I'm working on. Keep up the nice work! Also, some more pics would be nice! Especially of the state house and the fort. (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) That is very cool! I love the market and the items you've got hanging. The Mariachi band is great. And the fort looks fine in grey, but we need more pics of it. :) I like the paved walkway as well. And here I thought you just did Western. ;) (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Puerto Bonita

Hi all, This is my first attempt at a large scale pirate creation. I call it Puerto Bonita. It is a Spanish port city in the Carribbean. I used up just about every white and yellow brick I own to build it. It would be bigger, except Frank Filz (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.pirates) !!

Yes, that was something I was planning to do. I live in the UK, could you possibly tell me the e-mail address to contact them, just to get a 'second opinion'? Thanx in advance, (...) (23 years ago, 30-May-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: What does this mean?

In reference to the question about TLG bringing back the Pirate theme, they did bring back the castle theme and now I am seeing lots of those sets on clearance at TRU, if they bring something back it needs to sell a LOT not just placate all of us (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: What does this mean?

(...) I make one smartalecky remark and spark a debate. :-) I think of the Islanders as more South Pacific than South American. The Adventurers Jungle didn't do a particularly good job with the Incan/Mayan look (I suppose the Aztecs weren't quite in (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: What does this mean?

(...) Well, I like them whether they're pirates or not. Cool pieces, and the designs are not bad (if somewhat generalized) Native South American style. Kinda like the early (and better!) generation of the jungle adventurers. I'd love to see a new (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: What does this mean?

(...) I only like 'em for the anti-imperialist angle. Oh, and those neat faces. But I think the Islanders most certainly must be considered Piratey! Lord knows we're gonna see enough of them in this year's Game... best LFB (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  What does this mean?

The Pirates are back, or they will be. What does this mean, though? Will we be seeing the Skull Eye Schooner? I also heard that some people were talking about the Lego company adding to the theme. Like Imperial guards, but adding another ship, or (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.pirates)
