Re: Weekend of LEGO Pirate Games!

(...) I'm not sure if it's worth chucking just because we only have 6 players. It does suggest we don't want to pay for Steve Jackson to come (however, if he wanted to come on his own, that would be cool). I'd love some more opportunities to run the (...)   Re: Weekend of LEGO Pirate Games!

(...) If you are capable of paying attention and being nice (at least as nice as any other scurvy dog, that is), then I don't see what age has to do with it. You would be most welcome. (...) There aren't. In the past at these events there have been (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.org.us.gardenslug, lugnet.loc.us.nj, lugnet.games, lugnet.events)

Re: Weekend of LEGO Pirate Games!

(...) Chris Weeks will have to answer if there are any age requirements for the event in general. For the game itself, all that is required is that players be sufficiently mature to play the game. I expect most 15 year olds would fit the bill (we (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.org.us.gardenslug, lugnet.loc.us.nj, lugnet.games, lugnet.events)

(...) Is there any age limit of who can come and play, because i am 15 and i want to come. If we have our own fleet can we bring it? Thanks. (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.org.us.gardenslug, lugnet.loc.us.nj, lugnet.games, lugnet.events)

  Re: captain redbeard

(...) He was in 12 sets, only one each as you might expect: <set:6204,6250,6251,...6286,6289> He doesn't appear with different legs or head as some of the pirates do - just the one configuration. (Data from Margo Kubiak and Brickset concurs; (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Sticker Flags

Thanks, I'll have to peel off a sticker and see what flag's underneath... Fingers crossed it's a blue imperial one as the one i have on my Tavern has rather loose clips... Steve "Tom Reed" <Merthyn1@webtv.net> wrote in message (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Sticker Flags

(...) Steve, I have a set of those stickers. As far as I know, those did not come with any set. They were from a idea booklet or magazine! You could use them to create a new flag if needed. The sets always came with preprinted flags. So those two (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Sticker Flags

I bought a 6268 - Renegade Runner at the weekend, and in the box were three large pirate clip-flags, one printed and two with stickers... Did the early Pirate Sets come with stickered flags? They look quite authentic... Steve (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: pirate + ninja

(...) The most entertaining book I read about US subs in the Pacific was the venerable 'Pig Boats,' a popular-issue book that was as of 1992 still available in paperback. As for academic books, Morison like most was still enamoured with the (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: pirate + ninja

(...) "Blind Man's Bluff" is a great book about the history of submarine warfare. (...) Japanese pirates during the period that the Ninja sets apply often picked up Koreans from ports they raided as part of the crew. Chris (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja, lugnet.pirates)

(...) I'm still working 300 years before that! (...) Before Hideyoshi's invasion of Korea, there was really no Japanese "navy" so ship building tended to be on a fairly small scale, except for troop transports which were very boxy. I've read the Pacific volumes of Samuel Eliot Morison's History of US Naval Operations, but I don't remember there being too much in there about (...)   Re: pirate + ninja

(...) You'll need some black hulls! (...) I think there's a minor difference between full-blown junks and sampans (sorry, I learned the spelling used by the US Navy during WWII--as maru traffic vanished, US subs began spending torpedoes on (...)   Re: pirate + ninja

(...) To the best of my knowledge, junks (later called san-pans) were Chinese/Korean in origin. I was under the impression that a majority of Japanese ships were coastal vessels, small fishing boats or galleys, designed for short journeys and (...)   Kanonjoll

Hello pirates! After seeing the announcement about the upcoming Pirate Game event, and doing some reading, I came up with this: (URL) including a text file with some info about kanonjollar. LMKWYT! -Marc Nelson Jr. -should I have said "Ahoy!"? (24 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: pirate + ninja

(...) That's a great scene! You can build some neat small ships out of non-pirate pieces - then you could do a Commodore Perry scene. Well, you have definitely inspired me - I already have my pirate crew assembled, and I'm going to start working on (...) (24 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: pirate + ninja

(...) No pirate ships. I don't have any and they are WAY too expensive in Japan. Two pics from that MoC are here (URL) plan to rebuild and overhaul this idea later since very few of the photos came out well. Chris (...) (24 years ago, 1-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle.ninja, lugnet.pirates)
