  Re: Armada

(...) Hi Steve, it's nice to see a familiar name! I've been on lugnet for about a week. I've recently gotten back into Lego myself and been to Legoland four times in the last 10 weeks! I'll be attending a LUGOLA meeting this coming Saturday and hope (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Armada

(...) Hi, Jimmy! It's good to see you posting again. Have you been lurking on LUGNET long, or just got here? BTW guys: if you aren't familiar with the names Jimmy Park or Sonya Lee, they are old-timers from RTL (and maybe before?). Sonya Lee is to (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: sails for a boat

+sorry, i was tired when I wrote this. I do need the scan, but not the sail itself. the sail I need is the smaller main sail near the back. thanx geordan (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Armada

(...) I know Sonya Lee has 52 of them. Nothing compared to the 1,000 Imperial Guards she has though. :) Jimmy (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: sails for a boat

thanks for the offer but I don't need the sails. i am making custom sails out of some of my mom's material. i don't need the sails anymore. the aft sail is the sail at the back of the boat, thus aft means the back of the boat, bow means the front. (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: sails for a boat

Hi Geordan, I am almost sure I have a spare set of sails for this set. I'll check tomorrow. And I can certainly make a scan for you, no problem. What do you like most? Real sail(s) or scan? I can make you a scan tomorrow evening, buying/trading the (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  sails for a boat

Can someone scan me the aft sail that comes in set 6271? I am making custom sails for a boat and I need the shape and size of that sail. I have the set but I lost that sail. My boat should be posted in about a week. thanx Geordan (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  re: Not again!!!!!

Hi, It's Jono....I try to introduce a relatively interesting topic (6286 vs. 6285), and where does it lead?? A string of messages about the spelling of a word! Shhesh, I'm about ready to give up....lol......cheers, Jono (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Armada

(...) I know, I know--I'm just giving Franklin a hard time. In any case, of far greater importance to me (though still not much) is why otherwise right-thinking people pronounce nuclear as "nukular". What's that about? Dave! (...) (back into FUN (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) Isn't that "Conquistadores"? 8^) Dave! FUT: off-topic.anal.languages (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Armada

(...) Close... it's "Conquistadors". ;-) I *used* to have quite a number of these guys. I picked up as many of the last Pirates minifig set as I could, plus several of the latter-day Pirate sets. At one time, I'd estimate that I had around 40 of (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Armada

(...) Depends on what you mean be a lot. I have about 40 true conquistadors, but I've drafted about 20 of the new Castles guy in breastplate and Kettle Helm, the helmet being swapped out for the armada Morion helmet. Makes a great armored pikeman or (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Armada

Does anyone have a LOT of the Armada guys? I have looked around on the web and no one seems to make big bases and such for them, and I have been working on it I just need more of the guys for my generals and Conquestadors(spelling?) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

(...) That would be a decent deal, especially if you got the Mindstorms on sale. I paid about $170 for each of my 6286s, but I was also very patient. One came from the AucZilla 500 sets auction (w/o minifigs) for $170, the other came from a Tom (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

It's Jono again....I'm glad to see SOOO much feedback. anyhow, i was considering trading my (unused - opened, but unused) Mindstorms 1.5 kit for a used 6286.....i wanted to get any of your opinions on whether it is worth it. Thanks. Jono (24 years ago, 7-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

6285 compared to 6268: the first one you own for the 'looks' (the original owner build it in real also mostly for show-off...!), the second one is best for playing. My kids (6 and 9) are allowed to play with all my Lego-sets, and the ships with easy (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

(...) From a playability standpoint, definitely the SES is better, but as more of a modeler or wargamer, those "playability" features don't add much. The BSB is easily modified to have a 4 gun broadside (check out my RSB). The capstan on the SES is (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

(...) I'm afraid my favorite is the SES! But it depends on how you are looking at it. Built to the instructions, I would take the SES over the BSB anyday! But if you are looking for parts, then I would take the BSB over the SES! Reason being is that (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: 6285 vs. 6286....

(...) Sorry to disagree: in terms of playability, the SES definitely is the better ship - the more when your ships are equipped with shooting cannons. While it is quite difficult to shoot cannonballs due to the very limited space on board of the (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.pirates)
