  Re: Sailor-sites?

(...) Hi, Check out Steve Jackson's Pirate game page at: (URL) the bottom he lists a couple of pirate related/themed pages. Maybe something there can help you. Sean the referencing pirate (24 years ago, 22-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Sailor-sites?

Does anyone know of any good sites to go to for getting deck plans and such for schooners, frigates, or other sailing ships in general? Also, are there sights which state which sails are correct and such? (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) I think I too agree that this is the same baseplate (new color) that graced the recent Avdenturers "Egypt" theme, a "classic" $29.99 set whose name escapes me (saw them at KMart before the August clearances hit) that had a kind of overgrown (...)   Re: Tipee tent poles ?

(...) They could work, but they would be best for a much larger ship since you would want to use them in pairs. The real problem I would see is that they will probably be useable for one spar per mast since you can't customize the distance between (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) ^ oops should be 4293 (...) The points I see in favor of the blue area not being flat are: 1. So much of the baseplate looks the same as the 6416/5978/4293 raised baseplate (of course this isn't sufficient in and of itself sincethe baseplate (...)   Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) Hate to disagree but the blue section looks flat to me, the raised part on the left of the 'water' looks like it is the same height right to the back of the blue area. Also if you look closely the blue area has Lego pips on it which sloping (...) (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

  Tipee tent poles ?

Hello Has anyone tried using the long brown tent poles from the Indian Tipees (wig-wams) as spars for pirate ships ? They look like the "towballs" could be used to hold the sails. Henrik (24 years ago, 9-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) Looking at the grainy scan I thought that the blue section was flat and not a ramp like in the sets you point out. Upon closer inspection I can clearly see that you are right and I am just a Pirate-wishing fool. Although it will still make a (...)   Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) stream, not an inlet since that is the 6416/5978/4291 raised baseplate. (24 years ago, 6-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates)

Re: A good use for 2001 Alpha Team

(...) I couldn't help thinking that with the little water inlet on the new Alpha Team baseplate that it would make a great Pirate/Imperial base.   Re: The St. Theresa

(...) Don't be so modest. In my opinion you're running the premier Lego Pirate page. (...) Good ole Red-Beard is at the helm having stolen the ship from the Spanish. The true name of the ship is La Santa Theresa. (24 years ago, 6-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) St Theresa certainly is a gorgeous ship. I particularly liked the way that you've worked up beyond the standard hull pieces, and its a nice colour scheme as well. (URL) flag does she fly? (so I'll know whether to fire in salute or anger when (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) Ack, my Naval Annual is back in the Netherlands. The 'Actual' HMS Queen was a Majestic-class battleship, about (I'd gather) 15,000 tons, perhaps 450ft in length. The ship I built is first and foremost 'minifig scale.' All else is just designed (...) (24 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) I've popped in, but my time ran out before I could send a second reply. :( (Darn pay-to-type machines!) I love the St. Theresa--excellent lines, an extremely handsome broadside, and a great sense of style about the entire ship. Now, when are (...) (24 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) sorry I didn't really answer your question before... I'm a firm believer that if you want to build big, you have to do it with regular blocks. From there you pretty much have to just try your best to contour the rigid bricks into the shape (...) (24 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) I know that the deck is the part that you stand on, and the bow is the the part in the front of the ship, but that's about where my nautical knowledge runs aground. What scale, approximately, is your HMS Queen? And how big was the real one? (...) (24 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: The St. Theresa

(...) I'm not sure how Felix constructed his, but for modern ships it's always a pain trying to get the flared bows (a reason I stay with ships from 1918 or earlier). I think I still have detailed pictures of one solution on the mini-homepage for (...) (24 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Tudor Houses - Re: The St. Theresa

(...) Awesome! I'm glad somebody else has had an opportunity to build a few for their village. I think they make for a very colorful village, especially since you can mix and match colors. Unfortunately the houses do require some pieces that are (...) (24 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.pirates)
