Hi,
Just for the record.
I was born Robin Jones.
I married Tina Sayce
Tina was the last Sayce in her family so we decided to hyphenate.
Hence Sayce-Jones. You wouldn't believe the number of variations we get when
we say this over the phone.
As for the number of postings.
I'm married with two young children. That about sums it up. I'm in the
process of modelling my current sets, or rather my son's sets, well the wife
thinks I got them for him ;-)so there may be one or two more posts to come.
I just don't have the time to get too involved but I just love Lego and
Lugnet etc. While I type this I'm back in Arjeplog, Sweden on vehicle test.
This is where I saw the "Lugnet" school I reported last year. Doesn't time fly.
Total Sayce-Jones posts = 24 + 1

This is counting the X-Real-Life-Name header
So if someone changed their registration, their count would get broken up?

Ya, basically.  Or if they changed their last name due to marriage, etc.

It's hard to believe there've only been a couple dozen posts from people
like Ed Boxer and Robin Sayce-Jones.

Well, lessee...  Ed Boxer shows up a couple ways:

19 Ed "Boxer" Jones
505 Ed Jones

I think the count of 22 for Robin is right...at least, the search engine
agrees:

http://news.lugnet.com/?q=%2Brobin+%2Bsayce+%2Bjones

and I don't see any other variants like Robyn or either Jones or Sayce alone
with Robin.

I'm surprised as well; I thought I'd seen that name tons of times.

(and ignoring externally-originated articles that don't have
that header)

Would those articles be some kind of system-originated posts (relatively
insignificant for the question at hand),

ya -- everything in .admin.statistics and articles #1 & #2 of every group, so
about 3200 in all, at present.

or something more significant like
email-originated postings?

no

6302 Larry Pieniazek

Oh, geez.  I had no idea.  I think I'll shut up now.

My, how soon we forget...  :-)  :-)  :-)

BTW, were the counts based on unique messages, or were cross-postings
multi-counted?

Unique messages.  That is, cross-posted articles got counted once, not
multiple times.
