  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) It's a nice modification, but I can't help thinking it'd be better and cheaper all round to just build an IR receiver circuit for this - there's very little of the original configuration left in your mod. One mod I would like to see (to save (...) (19 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) <SNIP> (...) Well, its persuaded me to go and get one to modify sometime :) (...) Seeing a the instructions are already here (in your post). I'd look at selling preassembled units rather than explaining how to further than you already have. (19 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod)

  IR train base alternative

Hey all, Well I’m at it again. This time I bring you something with more usability. As most of you reading this should know the Lego Company recently released 2 IR train sets. While the idea is great, the implementation left much to be desired. The (...)   I feel Blue

I have been objective to the standard part colour combinations from TLG for a few years now. This post is not a bashing of new greys or browns. Axles have always been black, so to friction pins. Many parts have always been produced in few colours. (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jul-06, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.color, lugnet.parts, FTX) !!

Re: Part Mods - Baseplates and Technic parts

(...) cool trick. i just use 2 1x16 bricks and an exacto knife. (...) i've been doing this since i was probably 8. i found that rail nippers work really well for this. (...) snip cool stuff, ondrew (19 years ago, 13-Jun-06, to lugnet.parts.mod)

Part Mods - Baseplates and Technic parts

A few part mods for the brave: I decided that buying 32x32 baseplates and cutting them in two was cheaper than buying twice as many 16x32 baseplates. The question is how to make a reliable straight cut. I've used 4x8 plates for rigidity and slider (...)   Modded Bk/Yw Striped Tiles for Train Loco Ends

A few keen-eyed Brickshelf followers might have noticed my latest parts mod, cutting up the 1x4 black and yellow striped tiles in order to make the chevron patterns for loco ends. I used a Stanley knife, followed by a thin modelling saw to cut them (...) (19 years ago, 30-May-06, to lugnet.parts.mod, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Tyre (tire) nomenclature

(...) Also lugnet.db.brictionary ;) (...) I support the idea of standardised names for tyres - I would probably vote for millimetres, as that would match better with the most of the ones molded by TLC. And I would further suggest that wheel (...) (19 years ago, 30-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.parts, lugnet.db.brictionary, FTX)
