In the two specific examples that you cited, the single-piece versions not only eliminate the seam you'd get when using the split parts side-by-side, but they're also hollow, allowing them to be secured by (...) | (...) Agree with the high quality = no need for traction tires, but there is more to it than just weight. A high quality model has less need for traction tires beceause it designed to keep its wheels on the railhead better, either by springing or (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-04, to lugnet.parts.custom)
