Re: Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

I was *very* pleased to be able to attend. Everyone there had a great time, and I was able to chat with Stephen Gerling, who designed the stamp, and he was very friendly. Many of us built our own models after the stamp was completed, my personal (...) (22 years ago, 17-Sep-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

(...) I was there on Sunday from about 12:30-2:00. I brought the family, but the kids had enough Lego after about 1 1/2 hours (can't understand why :), so we had to leave. Otherwise, I was planning on helping with the breakdown :< Ron (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Now that the folder has been moderated, I can show you this picture: (URL)2) A mosaic that size, and the 'pixel' size used appears to be huge! I'm (...) Only other thing I can add (...)   Re: Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

(...) It wasn't smooth. It was just so large that it appears that way! The baseplates were used in a normal manner, they were laid down stud-side up, and then 2x4's were snapped on top. BTW, the whole thing was made from 2x4's. They did bring a few (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Re: Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

This is an interesting community project, indeed. I have a couple of comments after reading the description and seeing the pic: 1) The description said over 600 large gray baseplates were used, yet the mosaic appears to be smooth? How were the (...)   Re: Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

Anthony, I guess you went Sunday only? I was there for most of Saturday. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for Sunday, and didn't get to see the completed stamp. Saturday was a lot of fun. I've never seen so many 2x4 bricks! Especially in gray and dark (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug)

Giant LEGO Mosaic event in Austin, Texas

This past weekend, the LEGO company, along with support from the United States Postal Service, hosted an event to construct a huge LEGO stamp. The stamp measured 25 x 37 feet and was made up of over 172,000 bricks. I wrote up a quick description (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug) !

Re: The sands of time have run out... Answers and Predictions

Okay, I'm kinda new to this, so if I mess up somewhere, oh well. alright here are my predictions (This is after reading chapter 35, so if you haven't read it yet, don't finish this post).   Re: The sands of time have run out...

(...) Did I save five? I'm not even sure there are five. But aside from Ikros, I like the storyline of Andrastavia, and the few glances I've taken of the Forest of Blood are intriguing. Considering the huge amounts of time even a small story takes, (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug)
