  Meeting ideas

Unfortunatly I will not be able to make the meeting next month. I have some ideas about possible improvments for the meetings. I think it would be great if we had some presentations or something like that to help us learn more about mindstorms and (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Challenge Ideas

I got the following in email from Larry. He also sent this to lugnet.org.us.smart@lugnet.com but it does not seem to appear on the lugnet smart page. Larry, you may want to check your registration on lugnet. | Please don't laugh if I'm way off base (...) (22 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Technic part that allows powered steering

(...) Drr. You're right. Sorry, I should have taken a closer look. Thanks for pointing that out. -- David Schilling (22 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Technic part that allows powered steering

(...) The set listed on Amazon is <set:8465> Extreme Off-Roader, the price is full retail ($40). The description listed on Amazon appears to be in error, although the part count and price are correct. Brickwise must be keying off of the description (...)   Technic part that allows powered steering

For those who went to the SMART meeting on Saturday, I showed a robot frame I was working on ((URL) would allow wheels to be steered and powered at the same time. There's very few technic parts that will let you do this, the one that I used ((URL) (...) (22 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  May 2002 Meeting Notes

Today's SMART meeting was a tremendous success. Several dozen people showed up. At least seven people brought robots for the mini-challenge - locating a 100-watt lightbulb near the floor. Most of them were able to find the light even when it was not (...) (22 years ago, 19-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: Ideas for next RCX competition

(...) Thanks for the comments - but just so there's no confusion, the Workshop 3D RCX Challenge isn't sponsored or run by SMART. I'll make sure that Ray sees your comments. By the way, I also had a blast at the last competition! (...) I'm not sure (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Ideas for next RCX competition

I've now entered the last two contests, and seen the last three, and I'm getting some ideas on how it could potentialy be improved. Overall I still think it's a great contest, and run quite well. I had a blast every time I came! I think with the (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Gus wins another

Oh, I almost forgot: Gus also won a "Most Innovative Robot" award at Robothon 2002 for his RCX controlled helicopter! We've seen this slowly evolving at a couple of the SMART meetings. It has been a tremendous hit at both BricksWest, and at the (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Gus wins Line Maze! Also: Next SMART meeting on May 18th

Last weekend Gus Jansson participated in the Robothon 2002 at the Seattle Center. Last year he won first place with his LEGO maze-solver. This year competition was sure to be much more fierce (how can regular robot-heads let a *LEGO* robot win?!?) (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)
