Well, this is two seperate things, really.
Obviously, the thread could have done without name-calling or bickering.
I *do* think that discussion is a good thing, and suggestions are always
welcome. However, it can be difficult for someone outside of a situation to
make suggestions that are really workable. I don't think that probation or age
limits for certain events is necessarily a workable solution, for reasons I'm
not going to go into here (although I certainly will at a NELUG meeting where
it's discussed).
Those suggestions don't really hurt to have, of course. But given the nature
of Shiri's post, it's difficult to seperate NELUG from being people standing in
the way of her social life, which we aren't.
