Eric -

Great pics!  Can you shed some light on how some of the RCXs were used on
the display?  For example, http://www.nelug.org/greenberg12014/PIC00087.JPG
has one in it, but I can't tell if it's dedicated to the lighthouse controls
or runs something elsewhere.  I'm really interested in all the automation
that appears to be going on there on your layout.

I actually recognized a few folks in your pics from a NELUG meeting that I
went to back in July.  Some of the MOCs at the meeting that night may have
been in the train display as well.  You guys did a great job.

The Lionel dealer there at the show is kinda whacked - I had to take another
look, as the dissimilarity of Metroliner in a foam and polyester setting was
a striking contrast to the other stuff he had.  At least have a LEGO
mountain! Wierd.

Thanks for the insights,
Ed

NELUG showed their layout at the Greenberg Show in Wilmington MA, on December

so here they are.

One interesting note is that a dealer within site of our layout who was selling
Lionel trains had a Metroliner running on his table.  It was a bit bizarre
because he was only selling Lionel trains but I guess it would be a draw.  My
gut feeling is that he had more disappointed customers that didn't buy anything
than who bought something because he was running a LEGO train.

(...) Ed, There is a lot of automation! I believe there were 5 RCX's on the layout, 4 of them controlled 4 crossing gates using some of Chris Phillips home brew "Reed Switches" (basically Reed Switches are used to detect the Magnetic couplers on the (...)
