Most SF (1) conventions have art shows, and often have other displays up in the
same room. You can count on pretty good security for them, among the art
displayed will be originals for book covers (with prices in the thousands of
dollars). They will probably be happy to give you a table or even two for a
display.
Some places may also have lockable display cabinets.
(1) Note that if it's a serious fan convention, they may prefer you to call it
an SF convention. Sci-Fi conventions are things like Star Trek media
conventions.
