---PETER GUENTHER IS HAVING EMAIL PROBLEMS. POSTING IN HIS PLACE---
This weekend, a number of Michlug members participated in a benefit
for a retreat center. We had three different areas, so I jokingly
called it "Mich-Mash." Rick H. has already posted with that name, so
I guess it's sticking... Anywho, here are my photos. Some are
1024x768 and some are 640x480--it was a borrowed camera and it was a
number of photos before I figured out how to down the resolution. I
decided to leave them large because I don't have a lot of time for
image editing right now.
Trains

Highlights: Scott S.'s new train station and his Shell station; Amy
H.'s 'little' church; everything Steve R. does (turntable and
roundhouse, train yard, bridges, truck depot); Kai's power plant
(which it turns out is RUN by Jar Jars, not fueled by them) and
engine thingey; Tony's logging camp and waterfront buildings; Chris
L.'s town square; my Superliner (redone with Train windows) and
Dinosaur Transport Car.
Space

Castle

This has been my major work of the past year, a modular medieval town
(Gunthburg). This was the first time I really had enough space to
display it together. Highlights: Forestmen's Waterfall; a motorized
undershot water wheel; an assassin lurking by the entrance to the
four-story inn; a well between a couple of cottages;
Romanesque/Gothic cathedral; wizard's tower; Harry-Potteresque
alchemist's shop; the Knights of the Unicorn (custom minifigs and a
tower with cross-shaped windows); Ravenstone Keep; an attack by the
Alliance of Evil (Bulls, Wolfpack, and Fright Knights). Overall I
believe the town itself was about 5' by 5'. And now it's time to
take it apart and try again!!! =) The Castle display was also graced
by Steve R.'s Yellow Castle.
We're waiting to hear how successful a benefit (donations were
accepted) it was but we got great feedback from visitors and had a
blast doing it! A number of us bought 100 blue tubs (3033) from a
TrU on Scott's way and spent a lot of Saturday opening, sorting, and
trading them. 120,000 brand new Legos.... (imagine a Homer Simpson
drooling sound)
