  Re: Rock Crawling...

(...) I like this idea. I can see this as both a competition AND event, with awards going to both man & machine. Coolest vehicle, Best driver, best overall performance (fastest time around the course) would all be neat awards. (...) One of the most (...) (18 years ago, 12-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Rock Crawling...

I have an idea for Rock Crawling. Let's take it to Brickworld. We can make it an event (but not really a competition). The general idea is to drive a remote-control LEGO vehicle through the "course", which could be made of just about anything we can (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Next Event: Rock Crawling

(...) I'd say you can use whatever you want. My goal is going to be to make a cool off-road vehicle. Steve (18 years ago, 8-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Would an NXT be required? Or, could I use my RC Buggy control module? (18 years ago, 8-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Next Event: Rock Crawling

(...) This IS enough fun to continue. So, continue. I'll suggest robots are no bigger than a 48x48 baseplate. So, the course must be big (wide) enough for such a robot to pass through. I suspect on the day of the event, we will make the hills as (...) (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Next Event: Rock Crawling

I spoke with John Brost last night, and we came up with good idea for our Christmas event. This may go on longer, if we have enough fun. We'll see how it goes. The idea started when we were looking at John's cool RC motorcycle. The first thought was (...) (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: score one for half a$$-ed programming

(...) That is excellent! As you seem to be discovering, great programs are created one lucky hack at a time. Although persistence doesn't always pay off, it is a necessary ingredient in any worthwhile project. I am expecting UPS to deliver my first (...) (18 years ago, 3-Dec-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

score one for half a$$-ed programming

So I found another use for my 2nd NXT, so that meant my R/C NXT Trike ((URL) a new way to be controlled. I decided maybe it was finally time to try out the NXT playstation 2 wireless controller thingy I got from the Mindsensors.com guys at Brickfest (...)
