http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=115210 Jan 30 Meeting Pictures
Now I know I rotated all of the pictures but they are still wrong on brickshelf
I will try to fix them tonight.
1. Attending were Eric S., Patty, Bonnie, Jen, Patricia, Augie, Gandalf.
Missed Bianca and Paul and Andrew really wished they had come.
2. Theme for the night was to build moonbase modules and a Jersey Central Lines
mosaic Logo. I used the new software Bricksaic and it worked really well
compared to some other software I have used. The Jersey Central Logo was
completed primarily by Jen with everyone else looking for red parts.
3. The moonbase, started by Eric, is a Jersey Toll Booth. Green and Yellow with
signs made by Jen using snot. I started working on pods that attach to moonbase
modules and are small and mobile, although I have to make some sort of transport
crane for them. Jen helped me build the snot roofs for the pods.
4. Bonnie and Patricia went berserk sorting my Lego collection into size and
color. It is hard to imagine that they can do that because I have no patience
for sorting by color.
5. Jen found a sale at Walmart and told us what sets were there. She offered to
buy them for us and bring them to the meeting. At 50% off who could say no.
Augie and I got the Hogwarts Castle and I think he got a Star Wars set with
Greedle (?).
6. Entertainment for the night included two music cds by another Lego fan, who's
name Eric knows, be sure to ask him about it. We also watched (while building
of course) four Babylon 5 episodes because Eric and I are big fans.
7. Eric brought his new moonbase and Beeesh, Totally awesome construction and
techniques with huge creativity of color and parts. It can really help you
think out of the box for construction techniques.
6. Augie, Jen and I discussed how to make a bumper car amusment park ride. We
talked about how to use magnets under the base to get the cars to move.
8. I also messed around with ProE and .stl and .dat files this morning, finally
getting the converters to make .dxf files for me. I downloaded some of these
converters from the LDraw site. Did not have any luck with Solidworks though.
That's OK because I am better at ProE.
9. Jen will be calling the Wayne train show to see if we can get a spot.
10. Thanks to Augie for bringing food and soda.
I had a great time building with company thank you everybody!
Patty
