I emailed everyone on the list about a week before announcing the page.

I decided to assume that anyone who was willing to post to LUGNET would be
willing to join. I've got no problem removing anyone who doesn't want to be on
the list. Membership has no obligations. :-)
BTW, we're state-wide. Currently we have a fairly strong contingent in
Central Ohio and a rather active group in Greater Cleveland.
