Re: Unit LNE of the dinochrome brigade (Was: Rock Crawling)

(...) I would like to hope so. Those mounting holes would seem perfect to secure rubber cleats to, especially with the ridges on the hard plastic tread underneath. That one piece woulkd change them from semi-decorative to fully robotic functional (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: January 27th, 2007 SMART meeting

(...) The mini-challenge vote we had at our last meeting was close between coin sorter and walker, but walker won. Coin Sorter: 8 votes Inverted Pendulum: 3 votes Walker: 11 votes Sorry, I should have posted something sooner. But if you have a coin (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: January SMART meeting

(...) Perhaps I'm way off base, but I thought the next challenge was a coin sorter. I haven't built anything so I've just missed out on some thinking time if I try to build something. -Craig (19 years ago, 24-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

"Brian Davis" <brdavis@iusb.edu> wrote in message news:JCBttB.GEJ@lugnet.com... (...) I see. I wonder if we'll ever see some kind of rubber plug-in outer surface for these treads?   Re: Unit LNE of the dinochrome brigade (Was: Rock Crawling)

(...) Yes, and no. The problem is they are hard plastic with ridges, so if a tread ridge catches on a rough portion of the surface, they push fine... but if the surface is smooth, they'll just slide (very low coefficient of friction). The width is (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Unit LNE of the dinochrome brigade (Was: Rock Crawling)

(...) The more I thought about this, the more I liked this idea: I wanted to make a really high-mobility vehicle, but the problem with wheels is they are really stopped by steps greater than their own radius (well, partially, ignoring pushing from (...)   Re: BayLUG Save 9v Trains Store Display

(...) Russell, Great job with the window display! That's a nifty way of drawing attention to the plight of 9V trains. And, some very intriguing and unique MOCs as well! Jordan (19 years ago, 21-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.us.baylug, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)
