I have updated SciBricks mission (as seen on the newsgroup sidebar). It now
reads:
The mission of SciBrick is to support and encourage the public display of
Science Fiction LEGO Creations.

SciBricks new mission entails encouraging new comers to the Space(1) genre
to develop their building skills by participating here at .space and at
Classic-Space Forums. Encouragement will also come
in the SciBrick Kit Initiative, which helps new builders see firsthand the
building style of more established builders.
Specific support will also be given to old-timers and newbies alike in the
form of advice, experience, and Display Packages. The Display Packages will
be materials that SciBrick has collected that the typical builder may not
have, but are useful to displaying (such as baseplates, banners, literature,
etc).

Lenny,
Im glad SciBrick is continuing existence, its always been a cool org from my
point of view, and one that Id like to become involved in at some point (when I
have some actual, ya know, MOCs to show).
From the description above, it sounds like SciBrick is trying to extend out to
be more supportive of non-members who would like to do something locally; rather
than try to recruit members and then put on shows or displays. Is that accurate?
If so, it could be a good change, if done correctly.
Also, do you have a membership list, or is that in flux? Just curious. :)

| (...) Thanks! (...) Yes - thats the idea. (...) We have a membership list, and it is also in flux. :o) Right now we have a discussion list on yahoogroups, but given some problems with yahoogroups, I'm contemplating other options. -Lenny (20 years ago, 1-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

| Hey Lenny, what is up with SciBrick?? I've been getting this question off and on since the (URL) 'We Want You' Affair>, and my answer has been mostly "SciBrick is re-organizing itself, developments to be mentioned later." I'd like to expand upon (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)
