What a super idea, are you going to be selling these, are just make them available to us?

Well technically I couldn’t sell them if I wanted to becuase of the LEGO classic space logo. Once I get everything finished I will post printable quality pics. No ideas as to when that will happen though. The game mechanics will be very simple. Only a pair of dice needed, all or nothing, no record keeping or insane rulebook. Details to follow... eventually. :-)

Just as a note to tie up a couple of loose ends here...

1) I’m an old guy, so “trading cards” to me mean like baseball cards, I completely missed the “collectable card game” (ala Magic the Gathering like) meaning. So my post may have left a false initial impression about Sea Monkey cards, but I see Joe Meno cleared that up.

2) As far as I know, these are the first (or first non Bionicle??) fan created “collectible card game” cards that are LEGO themed. There have been LEGO card games before, like the Bionicle games and the Orient Expedition games but not fan created. But I might be wrong. So I FUT to org.glug and .gaming so others might correct me, and in order to raise general awareness.

Hmmm... I guess that would have made sense for me to post there also in the first place. There is the link again

It would be TRES nifty if your system were developed enough to actually use in play by the time Origins or GenCon rolls around... we (the members of GameLUG) had a lot of different types of games running at last GenCon, we ran a whole LEGO track, but none were card games.

Well for anyone interested: The basic versus aspect will be a simple roll of a die. So 2 dice, one for each person will be needed. Each card has: A#D#, where the numbers represent what you add to the die roll. The attacker adds A#, the defender adds D#. The person with the highest number wins and the lowest has thier card placed in the discard pile. That should be the most complex rule in the game. I want it to be fun, not annoying like most trading card games.

Very nice idea.

Will there be ship cards as well? Or just spacemen? I like the layout/look of your cards, and instantly wondered if we’d see ones with classic space vehicles on them.

Or are the ships part of the next expansion set? ;)

Great work. Can’t wait to see the finished results!

All the best, Allan B.

(...) Well originally I only intended to make a couple spacemen cards, I am not sure if I could add ships and still keep it a fairly simple game to play. (I kind of wanted to avoid making cards of actual sets, I don't really know why, I just did) (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.glug, lugnet.gaming, FTX)
