How did everyone else categorise their space-figs?

Hmmm, my figs never really had a chain of command - but there was a seniority thing happening, based loosley on when they first made their way into my childhood collection:

White/Red - the originals, the guys who got it done. Meat & Potatoes. Although, the red fig is a little flashier now that I think about it 20 years later.

Yellow - “Series 2” guys, newer to the group, usually techies (weren’t they big in the geology vehicles?)

Black - Hotshots. Supposedly better than the yellow guys, maybe better pilots & weapons handlers. I think they came out at the same time, but I didn’t have any, so they were treated as the enemy.

I didn’t have a black fig when we used to play outside; the kids across the street had alot, and always used them when we played Lego ships (my god, we played outside with Lego...). Anyway, I didn’t have one and I resented the black fig, because black was the “cool” color, and I HATED that. To this day, whenever a sports team introduces a third jersey, in “alternate color” black, I throw up in my mouth. Black is NOT an alternative color!! It’s a cop-out!! I don’t resent the black fig anymore, and actually somewhat dig the Blacktron I fig I got with the original Space Police sets. But black can’t touch....

Blue - I got a Blue fig with the Space Dart I (I think), and used that fig for all of my ships for outdoor play. The kids with the black figs never saw the blue one, because it was newer, and were jealous. Not being the confident man I am today, I swelled up with pride at that jealousy.

To this day, the blue fig holds a special place in my heart. The blue fig suit serves as my SigFig: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=498576.

There was never a hierarchy amongst my figs; everyone had a job and they did it. I don’t even like the color blue. But the blue fig definitely got preferrential treatment - top floor accomodations, best ship on the base, the black motorcycle (it was the only motorcycle I had, and was a treasured commodity on the base. Now everybody gets Quarks.)

But that blue fig, man...... wow.
