technology resource set (p 126)

1733 pcs, 1 9 v 'old' motor, batt box, pneumatic pcs, etc. - $306.75

robolab starter system (p 129)

1400 + pcs, 3 9v 'new' motors, 1 micromotor, 4 lights, 3 light sensors, 4
touch sensors, 14 leads - $418.00

hummm, this is VERY odd. I just got a spectrum catalogue in the mail
about 5 days ago.... And all lego is listed between pg. 176 and 197???

i just noticed my cat. is the millenium one (last years)

As well, the technology resource set (part # 89609) lists for $334.50
and the robolab starter system. part(#89780) is $461.00.

just a Heads up for you dave.

so your ideas?  what set would you get?  the debate for me ensues.

you might also want to consider just getting the parts and wires and
sensors you want separately.

i tried to break down the prices per ordering them separately.
(and of course i rounded off all numbers because my math is atrocious)

Robolab starter set--

9v gear motors approx. 25.00   x3   75.00
micromotor                          16.00
lamps                  35.00        35.00
touch sensors          15.00   x4   60.00 (comes w/ 2 leads each)
light sensors          40.00   x3  120.00
leads (wires)          20.00   x2   40.00 (3 leads each)

total                              346.00

so the other 1380+ pcs are like 100 dollars.

hmmm, that cant be right.
not sure if lamps are the whole lamps and fittings, and i have an issue with
3 lamps costing 35 dollars--what's with that?

anyway, if this is the case, getting the robolab starter kit for my b-day ;)

dave
