In case you're curious (which I'm sure you are, by now) it was 2'x2'x 5.5".
Hmm.  Sounds perfect for "Last Bot Standing."  Well, close enough for me!
(at least for now)

Oh, rockin!  Somewhere out there in Ontario, there are 8x8 playfields, 2x4's
with copper pipes at 6" intervals, and hundreds of white and black marbles.
I'm imagining there'll be a lot of 2x2footx6inch platforms too (I think
Bruce and Chris already have them built)

I should have some extra time for building.  The company I [used to] work
for has decided to downsize, and they started by eliminating my position.
So, I'll have plenty of time to build and test my 'Last Bot'.
I may need to spend a little time trying to find a way to feed my wife and
kids, but I'll worry about that later.

Aw crap.  I'm sorry to hear that.  I got the can from Nortel in June and I
feel really bad about these things for those with families.  It's a lot
tougher with family and mortgages.  I hope things work out for you-that
sucks after the holidays.

PS.  If anyone knows about a job opening involving Visual Basic, databases,
or LEGOs, please tell me.  It could mean I could actually attend the dinners
at Mel's!

It's been tough here in the technology market in Toronto-there's a lot of
good people out there and the market is flooded with excellent resumes.
Both the IT and R&D employers are taking their time with hiring around here.

All I can offer is, be patient, it'll take time.  It took me about three
months to get a job that I liked, once I had convinced myself after several
months of looking for internal transfers in May and June.  I finally got a
job at Bell Canada two months ago as a project manager.

Good luck!

Calum

  Good luck?

Some days, I just can't believe my good luck. On Friday, my wife took down the Christmas tree, and packed everything back into the boxes. When she was almost done, I noticed the platform the tree stands on. Her dad made this little box a couple (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
