OK, I asked Calum to post this but.....
Before last night, If you ever wanted to tell people about our little
group, and felt they might want to see the official RTLToronto web page
you had to remember this ungainly address.
http://
no "www"
peach.mie.
who names a computer peach?
utoronto.ca
ok, part of U to T thanks to the host.... then remember .ca.. who the
heck uses .ca???
/events/lego/
events... lego, that is a LOT to remember.... after threatening Calum to
go and register rtltoronto.com I finally just went and did it myself.
BOY did calum get mad at me. no no no he bemoans, you cant have .com!
we are a group, not for profit.... blah blah (at this point i tune Calum
out) blah blah internic .... and that's why it has to be DOT ORG.
So, IT is official, now if you stop someone on the street and feel they
need to know about our GREAT web space just tell them to go to
http://www.rtltoronto.org
don't worry, same great sight, less filling, and the DNS host we use
redirects to the proper peach server.
sigh.
the world is good.
I guess someone has to tell the nice people who maintain the link at
lugnet about the change.
(silence)
(tumble weed)
(silence)
...
OK, so I'm off.
:)
