I was browsing the now pretty meager stock of Lego at one Niagara-based
Zellers. Last time I was there, around 2 weeks ago, just before the start of
the BOGO 50% off sale, they had a whole pallet of those Star Wars 2 packs for
$10.00 each. Now there was just ONE left.
An elderly gentleman and what appeared to be his grandson came by. The boy
looked between 8 and 10 years of age. The old man told the boy he could have
2 sets. The boy grabbed 2 <yuck!!!> bionicle sets for 9.99 each.
I pointed out that the starwars sets were not $19.99 but $10. The old man
quickly tried to convince the child to get the last remaining starwars set.
If I had the money on me, I would have bought the last set in a heart-beat.
But I didn't.
I didn't see what the boy's final decision was, but I'm pretty sure the old
man was able to convince him to only get one bionicle set. The boy looked at
the Star Wars set with a bit of greed in his eyes.
Anyways, that is the latest story. It looks like the BOGO HP sale is doing
pretty good. I'll have to go there on Friday to see what's left... :)
