I've got the corner clearance diagram completed for Altenburg.

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/derek/miscellaneous/metrolinerclearance.gif

I setup the clearances trying to maintain at least one stud clearance
between the side of the cars and the walls.

Any train that uses the 6x28 Train Base should clear the blue bricks.
Any train that uses the Train Base 6 x 34 Split-Level should clear the
green bricks.

I'm not sure how restrictive we want to make Altenburg.  If we build out
to the blue bricks we get more room for buildings, but more restrictive
train car sizes.  If we only build out to the green bricks then most
trains should be able to run through Altenburg.

How do people feel about restricting the train car size to the 6 x 28
train base so we have more space for building, or is the loss of a few
studs around the curves worth it so more trains can run through Altenburg?

Thanks Derek! I'd add the following observation: For all the "normal" train cars I've tested, if you have a track-side object 3 bricks tall or shorter, it can usually get about 1 stud closer. That's because the train base tends to be just barely (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
