Calum and i were talking last night about the flow of the day.
we are in the space from 9 am to 4 pm (we have to be clean and gone by
5)
the games start at 11, and we don't have ANY CLUE as to how many robots
will show up. could be 5, could be 10.
because of this, we have no way to "practice" the scoring system, no way
to work out bugs in the flow, now way to... anything.
Calum, and I are going to be VERY HARSH with the first round of games.
we need to so that we can quickly get to the final four. we don't have
the time to allow an "almost" robot.
"...wait 5 min, I just need to re-program my open book"
"..chris I'm not ready, I need to rebuild my scanner"
-this means, not everyone will play everyone, that we might have to make
arbitrary decisions on who should advance, and who not....
-this means we cant even post how we will decide who will get the boot
or not if we had to choose between 2 robots
-this means that i don't want to hear anyone cry to me that the rules
are set up dumb, and not fair. your right, they are dumb, and not the
most fair.. BUT with too many variables, its the best we can do.
unless people are willing to commit to a certain level of participation,
then we can not foresee all the ways of how the day will work out.
we do know we need to play 12 games of the FINAl FOUR.
at an average of 30 min a game (which is JUST a GUESS), and we run 2
games together, that's still 3 hours.....
so from 11 am to 1 pm, we will try to get as many games in to calculate
the final four.... but it will be HARSH!!!!
consider yourself warned.
Chris
There's no 'I' in 'team'. There's four in 'platitude-quoting idiot'.
I mean really, I'm going to win any ways... so does any of this matter??
