No, it's pretty much dead.
I took the train wall wart, unsoldered the the adapter off a train controller,
added some wires, took the batteries out of the RCX and attached the wires to
what I considered the proper + and - terminals in the RCX.
Nothing.
Oh, so that didn't work. Put back in the batteries.
Nothing.
Eh, whatever.
Yes I hit the 'on' button. Yes it worked on batteries before I started this
little project.
I'll bring it to dinner in January so the more electronic circuitboard/SMD savvy
amongst us can have a boo...
All this 'cause the 1.5 and the 2.0's don't come with AC adapters!!
Anyway, have another 1.0 with AC on order (or soon to be :) )

Dave, Calum is correct, if you used the LEGO train adapter to send "stuff:" to the battery terminals, then YES, you did PUNCH your RCX. now, before Calum pipes up and suggests you put MILK in your RCX, please do bring it to the dinner, I'm (...)
