(...) If the weather is clear, I'm going to open it up on my driveway this weekend and examine it. The issue is it will still be below 0 so painting outside is out of the question. (...) The tube is wider than the balls so the balls are sitting in a zig-zag fashion all the way up--one ball that is high enough to fall out won't 'cause it's resting against the opposite wall.
