And the layout fo the room--

That might be just a WEE bit overorganized, that you drew elaborate diagrams
... :)

One of the thoughts was, Hey, if Lar++ (1) ever visits our humble abode for a
cuppa LEGO, Id better be able to easily find what he requested or Id look the
fool!
No, seriously, it was. With that, and probably more mainly, Im trying to
reduce the amount of time it takes me to find a specific part to add to actual
building time. Of course, 3.5 yr olds have a different method--big piles on the
floor. So sorting day is always like 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. Lately
(past 3 weeks) he is actually helping sort a bit--since I sort by colour first,
hes getting very good at that. However, as soon as he finds a minifig, or a
boat hull, or a motorcycle, or, well, almost anything related to transporation,
well, there goes the help :)
And the pic is a little outdated already--Im down to 2 and a half totes of
unsorted stuff now--that makes me so much happier.
With that, I do have one tote completely full of tires (tyres for those across
the pond) and wheels.
As well, almost the entire top shelf is baseplates and toolboxes now.
And you will note I still ahve a tote full of instructions that were suppose to
make their way to a friend in the US of A... Some day... :) Letting ya know,
theyre still here!
I also have a tote overflowing with just bionicle bits--and its just bionicle
bits--all bushings/axles/friction/frictionless pegs and anything else that can
be used to build a Davebot to whup Chriss heinie in any robot competiton have
been removed and sorted into my technic collection. So its just like arms,
chests, masks, brains, feet, weapons, etc... and its full (5)
Dave K
1. substitute Larry for, well, anyone who may visit just to see the LEGO
collection.. (2)
2. btw, that is a standing invite for everyone--when in The Mighty Hammer!!,
look us up and come over for a meet n greet--we have an open door policy (3)
3. a proviso--it is a townhouse, so, say, your LUG of 50 members might have a
wee bit of shoe horning if yall visit at the same time...(4)
4. though, to be said, we did have that many ppl in our abode for my moms wake,
so we can do it
5. and looking for a good home for anyone that has some spare cash--seriously
again--I will never use it. I was mildly interested in bionicle and I love the
absolutely fantastic builds that I see ppl make using these parts n pieces, but
Im not that builder, nor do I plan to be. Theres no need for me to have an
overflowing bin of bionicle pieces...

| (...) Mmmkay! If anyone ever visited my place they'd be appalled at how disorganized it is. Mostly I'm just in awe of how it's such a totally over the top use of Visio. :) (which I have used in the past for trying to decide what buildings go where) (...)
