For a start, it might be good to know which suburbs people are based to • see
where a central location might be. I'm told the following people live in • or
around Brisbane:

Aaron Coghill
Geoffrey Hyde

*Geoffrey's brain slowly thaws out upon finding this amusing post ...*

"Around" Brisbane?!?!?!  If you can call a location near Cairns, Far North
Queensland "around" Brisbane, yeah sure I'll drop by ...  ("NOT!!"  Say my
finances - they've got other plans ...)  Will cost *someone* (me) a bit of a
travel, though!!  :-(  Crikey, where do I get money for that then?  I'm
physically located in Mareeba, which is on the Tablelands near Cairns, about
1500 or so feet above sea level.  :o)

And it does get cold up here of a morning, and late at night!!  Past three
days have been 7-9 degrees Celsius ...  Although, if anyone would be a good
enough samaritan to take a friend on a *very* long journey (hah, who would
that be I wonder?) I might be able to make it down, or if I can find my
train tickets (DSP Pension - long story, and I *do* mind people asking.) I
may be able to make it down - I'll need somewhere to stay, and a few months
of advance notice ...  *sighs*

OK, I'm done now ...  My brain's refrozen ...  You can leave now!!  :-)))))

But before anyone does, I'm not much of a train freak, atm - I'm just in the
closing stages of completing a trade deal for my old train and technic LEGO
...  Can't do much but get rid of it due to an extreme lack of storage
space, plus lots of dust - but if someone wanted some old town sets off me,
I *might* be able to trade for those ...  I should dig out a list from
somewhere - have some old Pirate stuff somewhere too - if I can find it all
that is ...

Cheers ...

Geoffrey Hyde

I'd be interested in doing something but a) I have no car and b) from • what I

Perhaps a swap meet may be a good place to start. We could discuss what • we
want in the way of parts and meet up somewhere with parts in hand.  That
would remove my transport difficulties and be a good way to see how many
people would be interested in club-type meetings.

BTW
Do you build mainly steam trains or modern? At the moment I'm building a
30's'ish train and tram to go with the little adventurers car. I'm • thinking
of trying to build an old-style train station but can't find many • pictures
on the net (and I lack windows).

So, do we get something on the go or what?

I'd be happy to have people over for an afternoon or evening to • discuss
all things lego, maybe have a swap meet as well.

My main interests are town, train, model team, boats, planes, promos • and
lego literature, some I'm sure I'd have something to interest • everyone.

For those who have them, you could bring your non lego spouses and • they
could all enjoy a gripe together about how much time and money we • waste
on childish lego.
