Heres an idea, if the "references" header is removed by the server, add it manually but call it something different (e.g. reference) and then have todd change lugnet to recognise this in incoming emails and change it to references before it stores (...) Sounds like bureaucracy to me ... "Why should we give them that if they aren't going to use it?" kind of attitude.
