Hi All,

I just thought I'd let everyone know that I got a good deal at Toyworld
today.  I got the Space Port Set (6456) for $79.99(AU) - 50% off.  Lugnet
reports that the US RRP is $80(US), and the cheapest available online is
$63(US) - so the price was very good.

I got this from Toyworld at Mt Barker, near Adelaide - but it's possible
that other stores around the country have good discounts too.  While I was
there, they were unpacking new stock - some new Star Wars, and the Life on
Mars, so they are probably trying to clear old stock.

Hi Heather!
Toyworlds are pretty good for "old stock at 50% off" deals. TRU steep
discounts are my favourite though. I really recommend a meeting to the
Adelaide folk: always a lot of fun.

So where are the Sydney metro dwelling lurkers? Apart from Richie and
Anthony, the STUDS list includes: Santosh Bhat (local), Peter Callaway (UK),
Eli Donati (south), David Drew (south), Andrea Hall (north), Kevin Hall
(north), James Howse (local), David Low (local), Mike McLeod (north),
Richard Parsons (south), Peter White (local). Gosford to Mittagong via
Penrith is pretty huge catchment for a grand total of thirteen AFOLs, with
only six living in the various suburbs. Do LUGNET aware Lego fans really
only make up 0.00026% of this great city's population (oh the humanity)?

(...) Independent toy stores seem to get 'special' supplies of certain sets eg.6087, where TRU's, K-marts and Big W's will clear out existing stock. TRU did get a supply of 7171s and 8462s and 8448s to sell at discount. Lego Australia deals out (...) (24 years ago, 5-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Look at the bright side, it's better than one in a million. ("She was one in a million, So there's five more just in New south Wales" happened to spool through my RealJukebox just as I wrote that, honest...) ++Lar (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
