Re: Looking for someone to take over the LUG Map...

(...) John, let me know who will be maintaining it and have them contact me and we can work out an updating mechanism. The way Eric Kingsley and I did it in the past was that he edited it on his local computer at home, then uploaded the new HTML (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-03, to lugnet.org, lugnet.trains.org)

  The debut of GLUG!

It is my pleasure to announce the formation of GLUG -- The Game-LEGO User Group. The purpose of GLUG is to facilitate discussion about, and organization of, LEGO-based games of all kinds. This includes the creation of new games, the alteration of (...) (23 years ago, 2-Mar-03, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.announce, lugnet.org, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) The problem is that there would be such a huge density of dots in certain locations that it would just get unweildy. It already is that case for the Bay Area, with its high dot concentration at Brickswest. I think just having one instance of (...)   Re: Looking for someone to take over the LUG Map...

(...) You make a good point, Christina. Perhaps I may have spoken too quickly. I do know that the ILTCO is planning on maintaining an *LTC* map on their website, and so that information could be easily linked to or utilized (If there is a desire to (...)   A national (global?) gaming-themed LUG!

Hi all, Springing from the discussion about this summer's Gen Con on lugnet.fun.gaming, several people have expressed interest in a non-regional gaming-with-LEGO organization. The initial reason we want to form this group is to have a unified body (...) (23 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.org)

Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I don't think Chris meant 25 all in the same year. 3 fests = about 8 years worth of dots before you run out of colors. Whether that actually works or not would be a different question (I suspect once you get above 3 or 4 studs high you are (...)   Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I don't think that I'll be sending the map to 25 different gatherings, thanks. At $60 or so each way for shipping, it would add up awfully fast! The three main US fests are certainly a good place to start. I'm still wondering how to handle (...)   Re: What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

(...) I like the idea of leaving them on as long as possible. There are at least 25 colors of 1x1 round plates, so you could potentially include a whole boat-load of gatherings. Hmmm...I wonder if I could paint my LUGNET member number on the top (...) (23 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org)

Looking for someone to take over the LUG Map...

Re: How are lugnet.loc.us... groups being used these days?

(...) To be blunt, I think that in the case in point, you probabbly got the general jist of the replies in that post. There's not really very many people that live in the Florida area. There's me, Robin, KK Quah, (though he hasn't posted recently) (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.us, lugnet.org, lugnet.loc.us.fl, lugnet.org.us.gflug)

(...) One thing I decided to do is to subscribe to the local groups I'm most interested in by e-mail. Then you don't have to remember to check them. I guess I hadn't noticed the GFLUG group.
