Anyway, turns out it has nothing to do with the email addresses that are in
your membership page, but instead is an implied cookie associated with your
member account, based on how you filled out the posting setup page. So it was
behaving “as expected” (dunno if I’d call it “right” or not), but it wasn’t
how I assumed it would work.

I’m glad I paid my $10 Legnet membership fee all of those years ago...it has
prevented a lot of these posting/authentication/extra steps issues to not be a
factor!
