Sounds like isolated problems with some members logging in as opposed to

Issue is with implied cookie setups based on member data-- I had thought that
the email addresses used in the membership form related to the posting ID. So
when I was attempting to post using a different email address (but still logged
in as myself), it still filled in my normal email address. It *shouldve* been
using my suave.net account when I posted that message (or so I thought).
Anyway, turns out it has nothing to do with the email addresses that are in your
membership page, but instead is an implied cookie associated with your member
account, based on how you filled out the posting setup page. So it was behaving
as expected (dunno if Id call it right or not), but it wasnt how I assumed
it would work.

| (...) Hmm - nothing wrong on my end. After I sign in, posting is the same as it was prior to the recent changes and the ads do disappear as promised. Still takes a while to confirm the post, but it was like that before. Sounds like isolated problems (...) (17 years ago, 14-Dec-07, to lugnet.off-topic.test, FTX)
