Every night Roy Rogers and Dale Evans left their shoes on the back porch. One
morning Dale looked out the window to see a mountain lion gnawing on Roy's new
shoes. As he got to the door, the mountain lion ran away. He set an elaborate
trap for the mountain lion, determined to catch the lion in the act. After
several weeks, he had not caught the lion but the lion had destroyed his shoes.
So, Roy and Dale set off to buy a new pair. As they rode into the sunset, Dale
caught sight of the mountain lion out of the corner of her eye and said:
Pardon me, Roy, is that the cat that ate your new shoes.
